Impactful learning that stuck - probably speaks to how the brain works. But also my brain is full of movie quotes and song lyrics so perhaps not. It is a fascinating thought to try understand how and why we retain certain things and not others though
Antifragility is an interesting concept. I obviously want to optimize my health by putting myself in conditions that make it the most possible to do, but if I'm ever not in the ideal environment, everything can go down the drain. It's tough to have a balance of both. Somedays I just need to shock the system with things that would help me antifragile.
Completely agree on the challenge of balancing optimising and antifragility. I think the reality for many in the modern world is that we have enough stress as it is, so for the most part we probably need to err on the side of optimisation. If that's not you and/or on days/weeks when you're more able to adapt, the antifragility card can be played.
Have a feeling this speaks to certain demographics on society but do think there’s huge merit in it for those who’ve otherwise got a relatively comfortable life for sure
Love this David! Thanks for sharing!
Glad your enjoyed, always find it strange what has stuck with me and the origins thereof
I’m impressed you remember the origins!

I just started the book comfort crisis, and it’s talking about how we should seek out uncomfortable and challenging situation.
It’s on my list!
